So much time has just flown by! Dakota has changed so much and learned so much! I can honestly say that I am actually enjoying being a mom now.
This last week was sooo big for Dakota! This past week Dakota started climbing...everything. It is really entertaining watching him try, with all his might, to climb the couch or chair. Although it is really scary to walk into the living room and see Dakota standing on the back of the couch staring out the window. It is scary for a child to fall off anything but it is extremely dangerous in our house because we have hardwood floors through out the house. Dakota just started eating adult food this week. Literally I mean, he just started eating. Before this past week, the only things Dakota would eat is avocado, banana, tuna, crackers, raisins and yogurt. Now he is eating alot more, but still tenative to try most new things. The most exciting thing that happened this week...he finally called me "Mama". Yea!!! Dakota is very communicative and picks up new words really fast. But he would never say mama, mommy or anything. The only time we could tell he wanted me is that he would ask for "nana" which is what he says when he wants to nurse. Words that came before "mama": Dadda, dog, duck, nana, dat (that), help, peas (please), hat, mop, bath, light, on, outside, no, yea (yes), truck, all gone, hot, fish, book...and he uses his baby signs alot too. I am so glad that he loves to read books and learn. I am really enjoying watching him learn new things. I look forward to what is ahead. Daddy got Dakota his first 4-wheeler as an early Christmas present. The good part about this age group, they have no sense of time and don't know when Christmas is:) Dakota loves the Power wheels 4-wheeler. I think Daddy loves watching him ride just as much.
Monty's work is still touchy. I am finally getting some part-time work cleaning with another mommy. Dakota does well until the end of the day. I am just greatful for the work. I have been working at Bubbles Kids (a local consignment store) on Saturdays for store credit. I love getting away from Dakota for a little while and being able to save for much needed things. This week I will begin working at MOPS. This will be really interesting because it will be the first time Dakota will be in a room full of same-aged children. I am hoping to get transferred to his room so that I can watch him interact with his peers. The CSA farm I have been working on comes to an end in three weeks. I love working on the farm but finding child care has been hard. Dakota does not like being with anyone other than me or Daddy.
Dakota is just sooo cute and so smart! I love him so much.
