Dakota is growing up so fast! He is now saying "do-do" for doggie, "da-da" for Daddy and "Na-na" for Mommy. He absolutely loves dogs! He gets so excited when he sees or hears one. He also can point them out in books and on his jammies. He loves books. Correction, he loves the same 8 books and loves to throw the rest of them on the floor. He points and waves often. He crawls and pulls-up all the time. He is just about to walk. Actually, he has taken 3 steps here and there. His interest in walking by himself just isn't there yet. But he will reach for our hand and reposition himself so that he can lead us where he wants to go. Dakota gets really upset when we won't go where he wants. With Dakota's mobility comes his interest in exploring the house. He loves to open all the cabinets he can and take things out. He is really smart and driven which makes him easy to upset. Needless to say, we have a little boy that has very short patience and is very demanding.
In Janaury, Dakota and I flew to California to meet all the rest of my family. Flying with a 9 month old is very challenging. Dakota got sick for the first time while in Cali. He was so miserable and I think he would have enjoyed himself more if he hadn't been sick. He did love seeing all the dogs and playing with all the kids.
We had our first big snow in a few years. Dakota did not like being all bundled up. But he loved watching our dog Jenny hop through the snow. Three days after it snowed, we had 4 days of 70 degree temps. It was so nice, but such a tease. North Carolina will see freezing temps all the way up into April.
I am still knitting and currently looking to sell all of my baby stuff. So if you know of anyone that needs baby things, point them my way.
Thanks!
