Dakota is now 7 months old. I just can't believe it is Thanksgiving. I really can't believe I am going to be 30 in a couple of weeks. I don't feel old or any different for that matter. I wish I lived near friends or family so that we could celebrate.
Three new firsts happened this month. First, I locked Dakota in the car. I was on the other end of town at a La Leche League meeting. I knew Dakota needed his diaper changed, so I set him on the back seat while I opened the diaper bag. I tossed the keys over the front seat, little did I notice that the doors had locked. Thirty-five minutes later after Dad had arrived, I pulled a sweat soaked Dakota screaming from the car. I still feel like an idiot...Second I told Dakota "no" for the first time. I know this will not be the last time. But his expression was priceless. He looked at me like I had just said a foreign word or made a weird noise. Man, I wish I had the camera out. He is able to move front and backwards in his walker now, in addition to rolling everywhere. I have two plants that currently (not for long) sit on the floor. Dakota grabbed hold of plant and yanked a handful of leaves off. Finally, Dakota fell off the floor and has a big bruise on his head. I feel so bad. But like Monty reminded me, it is just the first in a long line of bumps and bruises he will inheret as a child. I love to watch him learn new things and grow. I just can't believe how time flys.
